The insect-eating market is expanding on a global scale.
Even major supermarket chains in Europe and the United States are beginning to offer products that use insects. Crickets are a superfood rich in protein, iron, calcium, essential amino acids, omega-3, and many other healthy ingredients, but they are still unfamiliar to Japanese people, and most products are made overseas. As a result of trial and error, we came up with udon noodles to make a product that is more suitable for the Japanese palate.

After meeting with many manufacturers, we arrived at a noodle manufacturer that has been in business for 90 years.

We hope you will try our cricket udon, which was completed through repeated trial and error with the cooperation of craftsmen who are particular about "hand-pulling" and "natural drying" without using machines.

Features of udon noodles with 100 crickets kneaded into it
  • Rich in healthy ingredients
Crickets have no parts to throw away, and their entire body is edible.
About 70% of the ingredients are protein.
Crickets are rich in iron, calcium, zinc, vitamin B12, essential amino acid BCAA, omega-3, chitin, and other healthy ingredients.
One bag (200g) contains powdered crickets equivalent to the average weight of 100 crickets.

  • Eco-friendly food
Crickets have an extremely low burden on the global environment compared to existing livestock proteins such as cattle and pigs, emitting about 1/2800 of the greenhouse gas emissions of cattle.
Farmland is about 1/15th, feed is about 1/6th, and water is about 1/22,000th.
In addition, by cultivating the fish in a clean plant, there is no risk of residual pesticides, and the food is safe and secure.

  • The powder is kneaded into udon noodles for easy eating.
No matter how nutritious it is, eating insects as they are still tends to be avoided. Therefore, we made it easier to eat by making it into a powder and adding it to udon noodles, which is familiar to Japanese people, to reduce resistance to insects and make it more delicious.

Cooking method (boil time: 7-8 minutes)
1. Put the noodles into boiling water a little at a time.
2. Adjust the heat so that the water does not spill over, and turn off the heat when you find the desired hardness.
3. Quickly pick up the noodles in a colander, rinse them thoroughly and drain.
4. It can be served cold or hot, depending on the season and your preference.
